Detailed description

Gone with the Wind is a romantic drama and the only novel written by Margaret Mitchell. It is set in Jonesboro and Atlanta, Georgia during the American Civil War and Reconstruction afterwards. Follows the life of Scarlett O'Hara, the daughter of an Irish immigrant plantation owner. In the Novel Rhett Butler is Scarlett's love interest and third husband, often publicly shunned for scandalous behavior, sometimes accepted for his charm. He is financially a very shrewd man and initially appears to love Scarlett dearly. In the story Belle Watling a madam, and Rhett is her friend and loyal customer. She is portrayed as a kind-hearted country woman.
